Weddings & Events
We are lucky to have hosted a good number of wedding receptions, corporate events, charity evenings & various private functions since we launched in March 2015. In terms of wedding receptions alone we hosted over forty last year with a similar number booked this year, & our diary is filling up for next year already. I have owned a number of pubs over the years where we also hosted lots events for which I did all the planning, so I like to think I know a little about wedding receptions & event planning.
Our feast menu is by far the most popular function menu as it offers something a bit different to the norm, however we are more than happy to be-spoke a menu to suit your budget & requirements. If you decide The Lordship is the venue for you we will invite you to a full menu tasting when we can also try some wines to match & discuss the plans for the day in detail!
Planning your event
In terms of numbers we can cater for up to 110 guests for a formal lunch, dinner or wedding breakfast, & up to 160 for a more informal drinks, canapé, buffet reception.
You will have the use of the venue all day to allow you to dress the pub.
We have a midnight license until midnight on weekdays & 12.30am on weekends.
You are welcome to have live music such as band & DJ. We are permitted to have live music until 11pm & recorded music until 12.30am at weekends, or midnight during the week. We like to respect our neighbours therefore we ask music be played at a reasonable level.
Children are welcome, & we have wheelchair access & disabled facilities.

Dear Andrew and all the staff at The Lordship,
Thanks so much to you all for making a perfect day more perfect at the fabulous Lordship! You looked after us superbly.
Best day of our lives.
All is fab and married life is feeling great!
We had a fantastic day and the Lordship was the perfect venue. We’d like to thank you for all your help in arranging everything and thank your staff for their excellent work and patience. The food was brilliant, even the French guests commented how good it was.
We will definitely be regular visitors in future.Stephen
Thank you for helping to make Saturday such a brilliant day. The venue was perfect, the staff were amazing – special mentions to Jose, Rob and Annalise who were all excellent – and the food was delicious. One friend said it was the best food he’d ever eaten at a wedding and Steve’s dad emailed yesterday and said “the catering deserved a special mention – really great food and wine and so efficient!” So thank you! And like you say, it’s been fun organising it. Thank you for everything.
And if we get the chance to pop in before we head off to Spain in three weeks we will! (I wish you could help us organise ourselves for that! As you can imagine, we’re feeling a bit unprepared!)
We had an amazing day, thank you for all your help with that.Kath & Steve
